The ACE Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems certification program is for technicians working in the inspection and testing of existing water-based fire protection systems.  Eligibility for ACE Certification is based on different factors depending on which certification level is sought. Please note both continuing education and work experience requirements must be met to be eligible to sit for an exam.  See all exam PREREQUISITES.

Exams Being Offered:
Inspector Level I – $400
Inspector Level II Next Step – $300 (For those participants who already have an ACE or NICET Level I)
Inspector Level II Direct – $600 (For those participants who do not have a Level I and want to test directly to Level II)
Prep Class: If you need additional training hours or are looking for a prep class, this exam will be offered following a prep class being offered by FFSA. Registration for the FFSA training class will open on NFSA’s website.  Please note: This training class is not required for testing. ACE does not review or approve training programs or materials.

What you Need to Know for this Exam:
Registrants are REQUIRED to be in the testing room by 8:00 am (unless otherwise posted).  Please arrive early to allow time to check in before the exam starts.  If participants are not in the room by the required time, they may be required to test at a later date.  The time to take the exam depends on the certification level.  Please refer to the About the Exam page for more information.
